Hi Westyork123,
Congratulations on adding these bits to your collection, sounds like you have the bug already.
The green round in the center is a rather nice looking 76mm ARMDC Canister round, good to see with the stencilling on the case. Designated the L33A1 it was originally developed for the Saladin armoured car and was also fitted to the scorpion.
It is a fixed round with a cylindrical flat nosed thin walled projectile filled with steel pellets. After firing, the thin walled projectile would break open almost immediately after leaving the muzzle, spreading the anti personnel pellets in a highly lethal cone out to an effective range of approx 100 meters.
The 30mm case looks like it is made of aluminium maybe from a helicopter cannon ?
as for the green 90mm cone sorry i dont have a clue but i am sure one of our members will be able to help you out.
Enjoy your collection and just keep an eye on it as they have a habit of getting out of hand,
Best regards Weasel.

Weasel,

Regards,

Matt

30mm DEFA?

The 30mm case looks like a French DEFA case to me but I could be wrong. Does it have any stencils/stampings?

I think that this is my 100th post (a century - not out!) -
Just wondering if the 76mm AC Canister shot was the last ever APERS type round taken into service by the UK? Agree with weasels comments re the stencilling - never ever remove any marking from a case or projectile - they tell us so much about who filled it, what it is filled with, and any modifications etc.
Enjoy your collecting.

stencils

Hey, just been cleaning up the 30mm case. The stencils read:

30mm TP M788
AT 199A505-001

another stencil reads

USE98E006- 006

Any interpretation would be appriciated?

Cheers Matt

Hi Westyork123,
30mm aluminium case is from the M230 cannon from the AH-64 Apache attack helikopter.

Regards, Cornman
