Hi Tim, Have you seen the ones at Explosion! in Portsmouth...... Not quite sure what is going on there, unless its a wartime / post war comparison colour scheme. Are you sure Light Stone 361 is the correct colour? 362 is middle stone! Cheers Gary
Apologies, you're right, it should be Middle Stone BS381 - 362.
Yes they are the ones I've seen. I've seen a publication with the same scheme. The only explanation, which is a guess, is maybe when they contain ordnance they are stored one way around and when empty they are stored the other way around. Thus giving an instant visual guide in the magazine.

I thought it was 'Inter Service Markings' which is in the downloads section - but it isn't. However, it is showing stone as light stone BS381-361. I don't have my other references to hand at the moment, I will check in the morning.
