THE new BOCN FORUM ????

Hello

I was glad with the old BOCN forum . After some weeks with the new , i have some remarks .

Presentation :
Old forum : Nice presentation , clear , etc ...
The new presentation (for me) is not so clear . For example the new posts on the right ; on the top it was better.

Pictures:
The management of the pictures is not so "intuitive" , many functions but not necessary.
The new tool to load the images is "heavy" . A tool must be simple and efficient.

Update my posts:
Problems to update my old posts (to give new informations, bring new pictures, delete some errors ....) . Perhaps it comes from my explorer ??? or a temporary problem on the server ??? I have this message when i want to update an ancien post

==================================================

Welcome kz11gr to the new BOCN, if you have any problems, let me or the any other Moderator know. Thanks.

The administrator has specified that you can only edit messages for 720 minutes after you have posted. This limit has expired, so you must contact the administrator to make alterations on your message.

WHY ?? the writer must be able to manage his post without asking an authorisation and loose a lot of time .

Have you some remarks ? Be sure it will be for the benefit of our forum .

Regards

Hi there...

Re' Presentation. The top bar was removed after the majority of users in a poll said they preferred it on the right. Let me know what else you find to be unclear and perhaps we can improve things.

Re updating posts. This was something we changed a few weeks BEFORE we updated the forum because people were going back and deleting content and images from threads leaving the threads in a state of nonsense. This is a common approach used in many forums and a technique we should have been using from the beginning to keep threads useful and constructive.

hi Bolo

Thank you for your answer.

Of course i just give my own impressions , as "senior member" , because i am current user of the forum.
I just propose some ideas (perhaps good for me and bad for other ...)

The flow of news on the right is a good idea , because on the top the place is short.
But for me it can be better and more synthetic.

On the right :

suppression of : New Forum Posts
suppression of : Newest Images
suppression of : Latest Blog Entries
suppression of : Tag Cloud
keep : new Forum Threads and add other categories like under .

Best regards

I still cannot delete duplicate or selected images from my edit pictures in my album. It goes through the motions, but the image remains ?

Hi G,
probably bit of a dumb answer but are you checking it(putting a tick in the box) before hitting the delete button?

Cheers
Tony
