More Baton Rounds

Hi, here are some experimental 1.5" UK Baton Rounds. The first is an XL2E1,(first lot) the first Rubber Baton Round, this became the L2A1. The next is an XL2E2, the next variation, which became the L2A2. The last is an XL5E1 (first lot), which was the first attempt at a Medium Range. This would've become the L5A1, but I don't think the L5A1 or L5A2 ever went into production. It has a beige card wad on top with a large 'M' embossed on it. The first & third cartridges have a purple stripe for 'experimental', & the second one has a red ring as apparently it was excess production used as a drill/dummy.

Thanks. The Medium Range started off with the L5A3 (I think!) and to differentiate them from the L3A1/A2 Long Range they had a large white or cream band painted around the middle section of the case.

Very nice experimental rounds ! I have not seen those in the flesh before. Thanks for showing them. Tony.
