Get hold of the top and slowly "walk" it down without actually lifting it off the floor. This is the best way to see the markings on large cases. I would be interested in markings and measurements.
Yes it would be great to know if it's German (most likely) or Swedish or?
And of course the measurements. If it turns out to be brazed/welded/super-glued to the floor, we could at least get length and mouth diameter (-:

Thats a tiny case compared to some i have seen on bens stall ! they filled a pallet over the sides ! about 6ft tall ! this looks like a nice case though it would be interesting if its German WW1/WW2
