Here is a MK IV US Projo fuze. This is just the head, and is missing all of the internal components. I like the markings on this one since they are so clear.
I wasn't questioning it's presence, but it's direction. Due to the rotation of the projectile anything screwed onto that thread is likely to unscrew. Left hand threads are normally utilised for projectile base fitments; base fuze, tracer units.
exactly this is the reason - think twice about it If it is right hand thread the booster would unscrew if it isn't secured with a set screw or caulking* (how it was done on the original French fuze). The booster is on the bottom side so it's the same principle like for a base fuze.
