Missile, torpedo, eyection seat and others....

Hello, maybe this is more an off topic thread, as it has little to do with ordnance, but thought many people would love to see what I found....

Recently I went to an Antique Fair, and found a seller specialized on antique naval items. What a surprise when I found what he also had in the stand!!!!

A very nice missile from the 70-80's, used on Phantom f4 planes. In pristine condition with all the paint removed and metal was polished to near mirror condition. Well, not mirror, but very shiny. About 3 meter tall.

A superb 6 meter torpedo from the 70's, in perfect condition

An original Vulcan eyection seat, with all the alu polished

A nice prop blade in metal stand

A very original table made out of two aircraft jacks

All of these items where the only ones they had and when I arrived, the missile and torpedo where already sold.

Don,

Thanks for showing your photos. The Missile is a Sparrow radar guided missile. They usually have a ceramic nose for their radar to look through.

Hello, thanks all for your messages. I really enjoy when someone spends a few minutes of his time sharing interesting thing he has been able to see, so I always try do the same, specially because this items are a one life time opportunity to see..... not every day you see such a huge missile, or torpedo and you are able to touch and inspect it

The missile is 100% original as far as I know, so could be an early version all metal. Seller was complaining that new missiles are useless for decoration, too much plastic or composites. The one on the show was all metal and could be polished to make nice decoration item.... But I would not say no to one of those modern "plastic" ones!!! would you?

Yes, me too! Vulcan was only used on UK, so possibly it must have been sold to someone in Spain. But what is sure, is that the time involved in tacking apart every single part, polishing it, and reassemble, must have taken quite a long time. Seller told me that the vulcan seat was easy to polish, problem was torpedo, which had several layers of rock hard paint, possibly backed on an oven to withstand sea water. Many hours where also invested.
