Does anyone have any 7.92 rounds ,boxs ,etc marked with a ch headstamp? i have been looking at FN products and know they made 7.92 [steel cases?] under German occupation ,as well as pistols ,K98 parts ,etc .Any help/pictures welcome ,regards Dave

ch

I do not collect German ammo, but I see "ch" headstamped rounds every so often. They are not that hard to find, although I don't have any at present in my trade stock.

If you want to see labels, post a question for Phil Butler on the IAA forum. He is the specialist on German labels.

'ch' German WWII Mfg. Code . . .

Big Dave:

I've not had a chance to check all my 7.92mm ammo, but I do have a matching set(German WWII rifle grenade cup launcher and sight) that has the 'ch' code. FYI . . .

Couldn't find one in 7.92, but how about 9mmP?

Thanks guys for the replies ,this started when reading the book The Browning High Power Pistol by R . Blake Stevens [A excellent book ,well worth a read ]
Ron i knew they made K98 parts but your the first with the launcher and sight .
Regards Dave

Hope I can help you.

The FN40 case is a mystery to me. The primer is stacked with 3 pins like the Germans do.
The bullet is the same as the first ch loads in 1943. Also they had some problems with the arrangement of the head stamp as seen in the steel case lot 2.

The first labels were printed with FN an not with ch as seen in the picture.

Kind regards
Dutch

Looked around and found a few items that could be interesting.

The FN plant was under DWM administration. A lot of export rounds were made by FN.
For example, this 6.5 Sweden-Mauser round, who was made in 1941 by FN.
And 2 boxes from military made pistol rounds.

I noted that the 7.92 FN headstamps are 1942, and the 'ch' start in 1943, where there no 7.92mm produced in between? The factory was obviously active as indicated above with 6.5 in 1941.

The German code "ch" was givin to FN in 1940. The ch code did not start in 1943. Here an example from a 9mm Para made in 1941.
