PA105137.jpgPA105138.jpgHi all,

Just got hold of an unusual round today. It's a 90mm manipulation ?? I'm gathering loading training. It has only one mark on the base. Looks like an 'M' with what looks like a 'A' at the bottom of the M joined to the point of the centre. Will try and upload a photo tomorrow of the round and mark. If any one can assist I'd be grateful.

cheers,

Clive.

Mecar perhaps. I will see if I have a photograph of something sporting their livery. Mecar are now part of the Chemring Group (see www.mecar.be). Herewith an image of a Drill Energa Grenade with their monogram:

Hi Darrol,
I will try and get it out. Its clearly some form of practice round as the percussion cap appears to be plastic. It only weighs approx 8 kilos. There are no markings on the base of the case apart from just the Mecar stamp. The only other markings visiable are whats on the projectile: 90mm Manipulation.
Cheers,
Clive.

Hi.it could well be a drill round.i have a practice 90 mm cockerill round and its blue with tail fins .there should be a pic on the thread . .guess what it is .if yours is a drill round it may not come apart.Darrol.

It is a DRILL round as it's marked MANIPULATION (French manipuler = handling, drill ).

I've attached a picture of the Cockeril round and it's projectile (Belgian used NR246A1 Target Practice version)
