This is my main collection as it stands now. I have shell and casings scattered about but this is main part of collection. I have a shot a 3 really good WW1 German pieces and am in internal conflict whether to spend the cash or not...Dano

Looks great Dano! You are going to need some new shelves starting now! Thanks for sharing!

Justin

Thanks

Thanks a bunch Justin, shelves are 8 inches deep so may have to double up in the interim. Someday that whole room will be for my collection only which I plan on making it into a bomb-proof dugout or facsimile there of. I hope that day is not soon but bound to happen eventually. 2 German WW1 grenades I have ordered are "wall hangers" so they will fit. From there on in i'll have to improvise and make judicial use of all space. Thanks again my friend.....Dano

Fantastic collection

Looks like a fantastic collection to me, all of my collection has been banished to the loft!!

MM,

Thats not good, cant you plead that its preserving the past and that you are a custodian? Maybe you can make some sort of 'den' in the loft to display some of your items. I know i would.

Andy

Hey Dano,

Very nice "bits"!!!

I'm drooling over your WW1 German fuses (of course!).....and reminds me back to the days when I used to collect grenades - had about 30 of them from memory - mostly WW1 French and German......plus a number of WW2 German rifle ones as well.

Yes, spend the money - that's what is it used for - right? (Otherwise we will never stop hearing about the ones that got away!!!! LOL)

Cheers
Drew

Thanks Drew, I am kind of proud of my fuze collection. I found that you can get them reasonable if you're not too picky on condition. I found out the hard way what some of the minty pieces fetch. That's why most of my fuzes are relics, that and I get the idea that they were there. My absolute favorite is the Dopp Zc/91......Dano

another update

Dano1917 collection as of October 8th 2010. Slowly but surely. I have shells and other helmets spread about the house but this is my main collection, which will experience a growth spurt here in the very near future.......Dano
