Dunno about you guys but im just picking up on some experiment thats going on soon in Switzerland involving a whacking great particle accelerator?
Ive just been looking at some vids on ebay about it and i can tell you its put the wind up me?

I personally think that they should not be messing with this sort of stuff?
Im not exactly Mr Religious but i think i may be tempted for a hands together if they switch on that thing!

Ok,my g/f who holds a master in physics degree laughed at me down the phone and says dont worry.
Dont worry,some of these internet guys are saying that a bloody great black hole could be created from it!!:frown:

Hi Waff,
Yes i have been watcthing this with interest for a few months now, Not sure i would want to be the one to flick the switch. There is a small chance,very small they say that a black hole could be created although they claim that the Hawkin radiation theory will disperse these if they ever were to occur. But may i point out that the hawkin radiation theory is just that a theory and nobody knows if it exists or not let alone if it will do what it is claimed to.
All that aside a fantastic tool the large hadron collider and i look forward to seeing what happens.

Look at the millenium bug...that was supposed to cause accidental launch of nuclear missiles according to the internet, but did it ever happen...
