Recently Marines deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan wrote to Starbucks, saying how much they enjoyed their coffees and other products. They requested that Starbucks send them some coffee so that they could enjoyit whilst deployed.

Starbucks replied that whilst they thanked the marines for their support in the marketplace. However Starbucks does not support the war in either Iraq or Afghanistan, and nor does it support anyone involved in it.

Whilst these wars, notably Iraq are not popular and the reasons behind them are said to be a little suspect, it is not the guys on the grounds fault and they are serving us. Not supporting a war, OK not supporting the guys in the thick of it NOT OK.

SO, let us all help Starbucks by not forcing them to be associated with wars/conflicts or soldiers as a whole, by buying their products. This will allow starbucks to stay innocent.

The American military have since helped Starbucks by removing all franchises from military property.

Lets us here in Britain and Europe also help Starbucks.

Whilst the hoax link is correct, I saw an email with a copy of a letter attached that was sent to 'test' the credibility of the story from OP Herrick last year.
The comment was apparently that as a franchise the overarching company cannot dictate to it's franchise members except on matters of product placement and pricing. based on that help was declined.

please email camillajasperssen@hotmail.com and she if she still has it.

if it is a hoax then SORRY starbucks.
cheers

If you are in Iraq, you can get lucky, and be posted to a base with a coffee shop on it called "green bean".
On the bases, they are open for 24 hours.
the spiced chai was pretty good, either hot or as a frappe.

Starbucks are doing badly in the UK anyway , their sales are reported to be down, they did get some pupblicity yesterday , in the press when one of Tony Blairs close support officers left her Glock 17 pistol in the lavatory, and was handed in to the police by a member of the public .
