hi will i got the big purpall shell of of leeksi weighs a bloody ton !!

na m8 just have to be carefull though not to drop it ! the shelf is a lot stronger than a normal shelf because of the weight of the 4ft fish tank

Superb collection,

Super collection you have there, you must have put a lot of time in getting that lot together, very interesting, well done,
Regards,Don,

Hi Banksy,
Cracking collection you have built up so far, it does have a habit of taking over all availible space if you let it. Keep us updated with any new additions please, Best regards Weasel.

Hi Alex,

That's a fine looking collection you have forming there!

Love the way you have displayed the memorabilia inside the picture frames - very professional! What is the story behind your first pic with the set of South Africa(?) and the WW1 medal set?

Is that a Swedish Ljungman rifle? I had one many years ago and never got around to firing it! (Too busy firing the M1 Garand rifle) Love the way the rifle is cocked with the triangle slide on top to accommodate snow gloves.

Your tank periscope brings back memories - use to haunt the Army disposal stores at your age and they had heaps of them - does your one have the telescope inside?

Great stuff!!!

Cheers
Drew

Hello banksy-2k10,

VERY NICE collection of militaria! Thanks for showing it to the group.

Best regards,

hello thank you verry mutch for all your knid comments

hi don yes i have been collecting for about 5 years now and hope to be collecting for manny more !

hi Weasel yes lol i think i will need my sisters room if i get too mutch stuff ! she dose not seem to agree !:xd: lol i will post pics of my new items as and when

hi dronic69 thank you verry mutch still have to dust them bloody frames !
sadly the rifle you refer to is not a Swedish Ljungman rifle rather they are 3 russian rifles mosin-nagnet stv-40 and a cold war sks i would love to fiar the guns i own but they are deactvated ! did you have fun shooting thr mi grand ? the tank periscope is fully compleat with a spare set of lensis all internals are present and even has the instrucynal sticker on it! the storey behined the medals in the fisr pic is they all belong to the same family bbut the soouth africa medal belongs to the ww1 solders fathet so its a set of a fathers medal and his sones his namme is herebert alfred plackett the set comes with all the boxes correct paper work deth penny envlope post cards photos and even a sketch of the decesed solder the only thing missing is the box ect for the south africa medal all the names ect are ingraved in to the medals ! i brought them in 3 lots so it did not cost me as mutch as they are worth today ! just incase you would like to know the medal bars on the south africa medal are as folllows witterergen transvaal cape colony

hi gspragge sadley the medals do not belong to any of my family members i only have a defence and oakleaf medal belonging to my great grn father

Hi Alex,

That is very interesting re the medal set - and IMO you have a very valuable set of medals there as I have not come across a Father /Son set before (but then I don't collect medals!). Was the Son in a WW1 combat unit? If so, would add even more value to the set! You should be able to track down which unit he was with, and then track the movement of the unit - most of the Australian Medal dealers here do that and then ask big $$$, especially if the medals belong to say an "AIF" unit (Australian Infantry Force)....

Yes I had a fantastic time shooting the Garand - it only had the proof rounds through it when I got it!!! so it was a cracker to shoot and accurate!...until I split my thumb open while reloading in a 10 rd rapid in the rain!!! (Garand only has a 8 rd clip) - fix that by buying a M14 rifle with a 10 rd detachable magazine!! Yes we use to shoot all the semi (M16, SKS etc) in the good old days before Port Arthur.....now, well, humm, lets say it is still fun, but not "excitingly dangerous" as before :tinysmile_cry_t2:

That's life!

Cheers
Drew

Hi Banksy and what a nice collection that is.

I notice you have a few familiar items and as per our discussion here are the pictures we spoke of.

Thanks for showing us your collection and good safe hunting in the future.
