Italian B2 Bar Mine Fuze

I got this nice addition to the collection the other day - Thank you, you know who you are.
Apparently this is a fuze for the Italian Vaudanga B2 Bar mine, the later model due to positive safety pin hole that interrupts the striker which was absent on the earlier models.

B2 - 1.jpgB2 - 2.jpgB2 - 3.jpgB2 - 5.jpgB2 - 6.jpgB2 - 7.jpgB2 - 8.jpg

It consists of a spring loaded striker, with a removable cap chamber, and apparently the striker is held clear of the cap by a wire, which is sheared by a knife edge on the underside of the lid when it is pressed down. Does anyone have a good detailed picture or diagram of exactly how this works in relation to the igniter, as the diagrams previously posted on here and on Lexpev do not show very much detail regarding this arrangement.
Thanks in advance.

Just what we needed. That makes it much clearer, and is a great help.
Many thanks indeed.

Hello,

This mine was used in Spain during the Civil War for the Italian CTV that fought with the Nationalist troops.

Thanks no3nh4

I did not realise it had been in use so early. Given the widespread deployment of this mine, I am surprised that there are not more examples of this igniter about - This is the first one I have seen in 20 years of collecting.

Cheers
