While on a military range for training, I saw these test plates. I don't have any info on what was fired into them, one guy said RPG's. The plates are 12 inches square and vary in thickness.
They are interesting at any rate.

You are probably right about it being sold for scrap. When we turned in the left over ammo and dunnage, we had to bend the metal ammo cans so they could not be reused after being sold for scrap.

got any hole dia's and depths? Also look to me like what the plates we shot when testing the M 919 25mm AP DU round, but those plates would h ave been kept in a secure area because of the DU radiation and the classification results. Do any of them look like they were struck at an angle, like the slope of an armor vehicle?
They all appear to have been straight on shots, various sizes holes and thickness of plates. These were not "secure" in any way. I just made a few photo's as I waited my time on the range. We were shooting M2 Brownings (one was made by AC during WW II!), 240B's and 249's. This particular range is very specially equipped for sophisticated test firing. Not sure I want to ID it on an open forum.
