Nammo produced M72 for many countries including UK, Canada and US. But does anyone know which country hade the description “RKT 66mm HEAT” onto the LAW. Is that usual in UK or Canada. I haven’t seen they used that description onto the LAW in the US.

Cheers

Should it not be possible of a Netherlands LAW ? (RKT = Raket)
Belgian LAW's have a two languages marking (french-dutch).

Thanks Darrol.
Could you confirme that the front sight is the correct one for this type or does yours have a different one?
Thanks a gain

Hi.the front sight is the same as yours.is there any stamping left of the markings underside near rear cover hinge?.Darrol.

Ok, thanks. Dont know if there are more marks on it. It's for sale and just needed to know a bit more about it before i make a move. I didnt know that the UK hadd "metric" system on the front sight.

Cheers

In UK service in the 1970s & 1980s for relatively short distances of a few hundred yards / metres, distances were regarded as virtually the same and were therefore regarded as interchangeable. For example 1 yard is 36 inches while 1 metre is a little over 39 inches: The difference between 300 yards and 300 metres is therefore about 900 inches = about 25 yards or 23 metres. There would not be a lot of difference in position of target strike while using a direct fire weapon over such a relatively short distance.

Good day, As for Canadian's, I do believe that it is missing the A1 marking after the M72. And if my memories serve me right we had that type of sight until A3 version. (Also mentioned in attach images ) LOL. The sights have change since version A5 and now, I do believe that we are at even a later version. (To be confirm later when I get back to work). Hope the images are good to view.

Hope my two cents was of any use.

Cheers.

Hi Freaky,

I also have a 66mm with virtually the same markings, apart from the fuze yours is 2/12 and on mine its 2/11. My one was sourced from the within UK and was converted for paintball, it has know been stripped back to original, but needs lots of parts to restore it.

All the Best
Richard

Does anyone have pictures or documentation on the UK M72A2 LAW (66mm HE) sight? Did they change anything?
