Hi Armystuff,
Your fuze is a British 101 B that was used in rounds for the 12/15" Heavy Howitzer. was introduced in 1916 and obsolete in 1945. Source for this is the list of British fuzes under the Fuze section on this site.
I do not have a picture of this round but will have a look to see if i can find one. As for picking one up....happy hunting.

Best regards Weasel.

Hi armystuff, i just took a closer look at the fuze and it looks to be a 101 E not B.
As far as i can guess the application would be the same although this mod had a shutter.

hi i just looked at the fuze again it dose say 101 B WC
dose this effect the price ?
or is it still only worth a 5
Armystuff

Hi armystuff, i am sure it makes little difference to the price although i am sure it's worth more than a 5. 10 + maybe i am not sure but it is in great condition and the threads look good so it should screw into a shell should sombody have one.
Weasel.

hi there
the round has your name on it i scratched it on so i would not get mixed up ?:xd:
so is 18pdr hard to get or quite common what dose a howitzer look like ?
Armystuff

Hi The 18pdr Shrapnel round is the more common of the two but the HE is a little bit harder to get hold of and a mint one can be expensive,

Hi Andy,
Was i wrong in my answer to this? or did it find it's self plenty of applications. Fuzes are not my strong point i was reffering to the Fuze charts on this site for my info.
Weasel.

Hi Weasel, I could have got it wrong i am not shaw how many uses it had perhaps someone out there knows. the 101E was used on the 18pdrs and 4.5 but looking again its the 101B so you could be right sorry.
Cheers
Andy
