Identification cartridge 27mm (German flare ?)

Hello,
I found yesterday with german flare "Rauchbndelpatrone" and "Pfeifpatrone" strange cartridges I can't identify.

-First (short)
Length : 70mm
Length case : 60mm
Diameter : 27mm
Base diameter : 30mm

-Second
Length : 125mm
Length case : 115mm
Diameter : 27mm
Base diameter : 30mm

Do you have more details, particularly on the short one with a strange ball on top.
 
Its is a red signal but here I do not know exactly if a smoke or a light signal. Also it may have a parachute. Have to find out. Will come back is so.
 
Ok, I got the info, it is the so called vz.1936 "red rain", an 8 star cartridge without parachute.

The short one is the vz.1936 and the case is made by R. Hornsteiner in Prague.
