Hello all,
can someone help us with the identification of this grenade ?
Under the black tape find we three exhaust holes, probably for the outcoming of the smoke screen.
We have a little idea but not sure, we think it is an Italian M6 Colored Smoke (Teargas ???) Grenade.

Can someone confirm this ?

I have one just like it that I picked up at a show in Arlon, marked for CS or CN. The markings are in French. Just leaving for work, I'll check to see if you've got an answer by tonight.

We had this teargas rifle grenade in our inventory, lot number is FNB, Belgium?.

Thanks for the inputs, but we have found it in the american TM : ARMY TM | E-9-2-9 ITALIAN GRENADE, HAND/RIFLE, TEAR AGENT (CN OR CS) OR SMOKE, M6.

The only problem is that's a TM from 1998 and is very rudimentary !!!
Should someone have a more accurate technical data or reference of ?

Thanks.

???????? FNB is the manufacturor's code of Fabrique Nationale de Belgique, Herstal !
Very surprise !!!

"Our" grenade have absolutely no marking and, when we read the US TM, it's normal.
All the markings were on a label placed on the pull ring to secure it.

I'm afraid that mine looks like the south end of a north facing horse, but it should get the idea across. It was the best that I found and I kept it. Hope it helps.

Thanks for your pics, US-Subs, very interesting that belgian lot number !

Now, other question, looking on the Rx pictures I posted, should it be possible that the inner pot is the pot of the italian M5 teargas grenade ?

Hi,

Just to confirm US-Subs and blu97's identification, it seems that FN of Belgium and Simad of Italy made a similar range of smoke and tear gas grenades.

The attached photo shows a label from a Belgian M 6-1 Tear Gas and Italian M7 Smoke and Tear Gas Grenades - you can see how similar the labels are.

Your grenade would finish my label off perfectly!
