image.jpgimage.jpg Pictures from eBay I saw the other day. Any ideas what it is? Description said " WWI PRACTICE GRENADE BODY" Looks like an authentic casting of some sort.

Looks like an un-threaded MK I body similar to the one on the left.

Thinking it over, I recalled seeing previous info on this grenade and it was here on BOCN. I know it is not much but more "stuff" to throw in the game

At this point there is nothing close to definitive to identify this grenade. It is possible it may be part of a game set. I tend to agree that it resembles something of the WWI era than any other, possibly even a very early MKII prototype. I think it is an interesting grenade and has a place in a U.S. collection. Someday someone may come up with an answer, be it through an old advertisement or whatever. One thing for sure, it is not common be any stretch and I truly hope further information surfaces....Dano

Good job Dano! It's a lot more than we had yesterday at this time. I wrote the seller asking if he knew ANY thing else about it. He didn't. Not a (ordnance) collector, but said he started off at a price that if it did not sell, he'd just keep it. Maybe start a little collection? Anyway, thanks a bunch brother!
