A few weeks ago I made a post to the Bombatorium thread of some new items received, including two WWII landmines and some VN grenades. Also in the picture are two small containers; one is copper, one is wood. These containers came in with the two landmines, not with the VN grenades. I do not know if they are related to mines or not, and have had no luck so far in identifying them.

The first is copper, and empty. The second is a wooden holder. It is drilled to hold three firing assemblies. One remains. It appears to be a percussion initiator connected to what looks like time fuse, with a blasting cap connected to the opposite end. The cap is cut off with the explosive components removed.

I'm hoping that someone recognizes one or both of these containers? Thanks.

As mentioned in the initial post, the item was recveived with the cap end cut off and the explosive components removed. Nevertheless, as the element tentatively identified as time fuse has not yet been positively identified, the item is in secure storage.

Heres a couple of images that may be of interest to you,, the photo of the fuze is one we recovered a few years ago from a 3inch stokes mortar and shows the detonator tube the bickford fuze and detonator fit into
