Got this earlier today along with 2 complete 25mm Hotchkiss cases 1935 & 1936 dated. There was a third case that the guy told me this projectile was for but I`m not sure?
Projectile is 25mm diameter & about 80mm long. Driving band is one piece copper with 3 raised bands. I personally have only ever seen AP & HE projectiles for the 25mm H & they are a lot longer (100mm).
This appears to be a ball projectile. Did they do a ball/tp round?
Cheers

Hi Hicky1300,I have a similar projectile to yours but the one I have is solid brass with a copper band that has 3 raised driving bands,I posted pics on this forum and learned that it was a Hotchkiss practice round, the nose of my projectile is blunt, not from impact damage it was machine turned that way from I presume brass bar, from your pic I see that your projo is also quite blunt, perhaps it is another type of practice round, hope this helps,
Regards,
Don,

It is an original French 25 mm Hotchkiss projectile for short range practice.
