Help with ID on a German WW1 Shell

Having difficulty getting a definitive ID on this German WW1 Shell. Any help from members would be much appreciated.

The base of the item has the following marks DEZ and 1917. Also Sp255 , 21 and the name Patronenfabrik Karlsruhe . There is also a sybol like a flower with petals on 3 sides and what looks like a C in the middle. On the Primer section something like Kn 6 18

Height is 580mm , Dia Base 100mm , Dia Top 80mm

I know the SP means high strength and the date and manufacturer. Not sure about the DEZ the 21 sybol and the exact size and type.

Cheers
Mitch

it's a 80 x 585R for the Krupp 8 cm anti aircraft guns.

"Sp" means "Spandau" (in this case the place of the inspection/acceptance) All "Sp" + number stamps are acceptance stamps.
DEZ means "Dezember"
The small symbol is a exploding bomb which was always used by the Patronenfabrik Karlsruhe.

The stamp on the Primer is not Kn, it is Kp which is the Friedrich Krupp AG

Hello Burney,

there was just one model of a HE shell for the 8 cm Flak as seen on the kaiserbunker website. But the color of all flak shells was yellow, not field grey as pictured there.

I have one such shell in bad condition, but not yet restored - so no photo at the moment - sorry. These 8 cm shells are some of the rarest german WW1 shells out there. The 8 cm Flak was soon replaced by the more powerful 8,8 cm Flak (which had several different projectiles)
