help with ammo box markings please

Ive been given a H83 MK1 ammo box and would like help in working out what it had in it.its been reused and has the markings 15 F DEV KIT DML GRIP L41A4 IN CNR Any help with what it means would be great.Thanks.Darrol.

Thank you.The box was officialy painted over what looks like three times . .and the markings(after stripping the top layer off with celly thinners) is dated 08 84.on the back it says R3 NOT TO BE ISSUED PENDING MODIFICATION .there is squib printed very faint behind the F3. Regards Darrol.
 
Yoda is correct and LCPL Combat's link is useful too. `IN CNR' means in container(s), the containers being the small tin shown in the link. Each tin contained a plastic, self cocking switch (the `grip switch') and four flash initiators. Normally used with safety fuse threaded into each flash initiator, the grip switch would be screwed onto the flash initiator and used to fire the flash initiator, then unscrewed and attached to the next flash initiator and so on. The safety fuse was not packaged with the kit. The main advantage of the grip switch / flash initiator method is that it keeps the safety fuse waterproof.
