Help to I.D. RAF Practice Bombs???????

Bombs Away

New Member
Hello, I am new here and have joined in the hope of getting an I.D. and details of some RAF WW2 practice bombs. I have included some photos which I hope will help, the large bomb is complete, it is hollow and the brass end cap unscrews it is very heavy!. The other parts may be from different practice bombs or flares.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

-First and second pictures : looks like a trench mortar bomb 6in Newton (WW1).

-Third picture : maybe a bomb reconnaissance flare 4.5in (WW2) - Do you have the diameter of the body ?

Best Regards

4.5in and 5.5in bombs :

Well,
What a great responce! Thank you.

I think it is the trench mortar no doubts about that, and the other would tie up to being a recon flare as those parts were found on a ww2 bombing range the closing cap and the body look the same.

All these parts are surplus to requirements, dont know there value but if anyone is interested please let me know.

Cheers.

Hi, Just wondering if anyone can tell me what the Newton 6" trench mortar would be worth? It is availible if anyone wants it. Thanks.
