Now there's a blast from the past...my favorite was the tinned CHEESE POSSESED:bigsmile:....and the blue salt pot, they were the days, don't get salt in the new rations either in the food or seperate :tinysmile_angry_t:.....still got a ration tin opener and use it most days.
As far as I am aware, you only need a license for cheese possessed. You will need toe tectors and hard hat if you intend to lift the biscuit browns above head height.
Happy memorys of eating this stuff, around a fire as a youngster and walking across the moors. Must look out my can opener, one of the most usefull items of kit i have ever owned.
Best Weasel.
Ah compo rations, during my time in the RAF,in Aden,at an up country detachment,we had such rations,my favourite was the Irish stew,it was great, but whenever a tin of cheese was found to be "blown"to the point where the ends of the can bulged,we would put a tiny hole in the can with the tip of the opener then roll the can under someones tent flap, you would be surprised how fast you can clear a tent with it,the smell was diabolical,
Cheers,
Don,
