Help in identifing mills grenade

I bought a mills grenade body today,and dont know much about them,could any of you help?below the filler screw hole it is marked as & sl and under where the spoon would be is the number 5 ,it has been cut above the filler hole to make it into a bank,also where the bass plug fits there is a small sharp piece of metal sticking out of the threds about three threds down,it defo looks like it should be there??
 
Buster 123 , a scan would help but the 5 below the lever is probably a casting number.
 
Given the position of the slot it is probably a No 23 Mk III body.
 
i had one just like this and as bonnex stated it was a No23Mk3 converted to a money bank. the little metal piece in the threads is there to stop the base plug screwing all the way inside the body as there will be no centre piece inside to stop it.

Yes , as identified by norman & paul probably a No23 Mk3 or No36 converted to a money box . The marking is TAS & SL which , I think , is Thomas Adshead & Sons Ltd . Nice thing ! Siegfried .
 
If you are under 60 you might be wondering what the purpose of the milled out sections of thread are about; they allow an old penny to be extracted from the money box. The grenade, which could be a 36 or 23/3 but I have only seen those fitted with a No 23 Mk III 'Hearn' plug, had a short length of striker (no spring) and a cardboard tube to hold the striker in place together with the lever and pin.

So,will parts for both grens fit this one,I don't want to restore it,just get a lever,pin, striker and filler screw so that it looks compleat

yes, the parts from a 23 mk3 or 36 will fit. original parts may be expensive but good repros are available on specialist auctions or dugup.co.uk.
