Grenade explosion?

A grenade exploded this afternoon in a law office at 101 rue Miromesnil, killing one in Paris. The victim, Jerome Muriaux, is a lawyer specializing in business law and real estate. Other people were slightly injured.

Amateur weapons, he manipulated one of the grenades collection which he had delivered by parcel post. Believing it safe, he cocked. Other grenades in this package, which had been sent by a friend, were found intact. So it would be an accident.

"I heard an explosion, a loud bang," he told AFP Charly Husson, employee of a business located in the same league as the cabinet. "I saw the window at the top of the door (the firm) that exploded. There was smoke, broken glass ... My colleague saw that (the victim) had an arm cut off , "he says. Aurelian, who works in an office adjacent to the company, recalls that "it exploded from within. Suddenly, there were flying glass in the courtyard of the smoke."

An employee of the law firm out of the premises damaged, screaming, calling for help. "It smelled gunpowder, it stung," said Aurelien.
This witness and his colleague Marc run for a doctor, take 10 minutes to find one, return to the building's courtyard littered with glass with him, indicate the cabinet door. "After 15 seconds, the doctor came out saying it's not worth it, he's dead," said Marc. The latter cast a glance through a window and saw "a jet of blood" to "where lawyers cabinets store their files."

On site, dozens of police, firefighters and rescue workers were busy around the building for over an hour. The device was almost lifted around 1900 and the traffic in the neighborhood was restored about 18:30, with the exception of the high street Miromesnil. The miners went on site, but they left before 18h, having found no other explosives.

The judicial police in Paris is investigating.
