Hello,

I've heard about a S.MI.42.
Does anyone have details on this mine ?

Regards

Do you possibly mean Schu.Mi.42? Wooden box mine.

Not Schu.Mi.42 but S.MI.42. I'm not sure of the nomenclature but it could be a S.MI.35 improved with a shrapnel pot screwed in the lauching pot in order to create a mechanical delay (time to break screws or pins)

There is a later S mine experimental that had a top that was much wider than the pot. There are also S mines that have no shear screws with a tin seal soldered to the top plate and outer pot.

Hi, .. it was a updated version with slight change in design, other than that still the same as far as I know.

The S mine 44 had a single det tube and a length of wire that set off a pull igniter in the base. The centre tube for the fuze to go was of set to the side rather than the middle and had a cellulose tube of launching propellant to launch it out of the pot. Much more efficient than the S mine35.
