German fuze Kz14 n/A and Kz14 Vorst

Hello,

I'm looking for more info about the Ww1 german fuze Kz14 n/A.

In France we have a famous old diagram from a kz14 n/A Zl (zamac) but in fact whenever I see this fuze the profile is different. The noze is not flat like a classical kz14 (picture 1) but a little sharp like the nose of the kz11Gr. (picture 2 & 3).
So, does anyone know if this fuze was made in an other material (brass for example) and with different design.

And I'm looking for pictures and diagrams of a Kz14 Vorst (with safety pin) ; this fuze is mentionned in documentations but never seen.

Best Regards.

Hi,

Seems the k.Z.14 n/A was only produced with a zinc body and steel cap as shown in the third photo.

The original k.Z.14 had a number of variations - brass, aluminium or zinc body with either a brass or a steel cap.

Cheers

Drew

Hi,

Is the original scheme with short (flat) head is wrong ? I don't know.
I've seen a Kz14 with sharp head plug 100% (no steel head), but without markings.

Cheers.

I think K.Z.14 all had flat caps, no matter which material they are made from. But KZ14 n/A existed with flat and more pointed caps too (maybe a more modern variant). There are also drawings of the pointed n/A type. The pointed cap has same meassurements as the cap from a KZ11Gr.

from Notes on German Shells ;-) Exactly like yours with zinc body and same factory only missing the letters "ZI" for "Zink" material
