Hi Steve,it looks like that 75mm german projectile i have in my collection.
That single drive band(same as mine) caused quite a debate at my house before with collectors and we reckon that the round was 'between wars' dated?
You sure its 77mm and not 75 with a bit of crud/rust thrown in?

Hi Paul
The proximity of where this round was found and the German inventory puts this at 76.2 CM which we know if correct makes it a very rare shell.
The Germans listed the gun as a Pk292/2 Russian
and the ammunition as 7.62Cm Pagr Patr 39 (r)
Any information on this cartridge and ammunition Fuzing etc most welcome
Steve

to me it looks like a 75 mm LIG or 75 mm Geb. 36 or K15 projectile. thats what i think, Ben

Hello Waff, i am sorry but i can not see it right, you know iam getting older and older, it could be a 75 mm LIG when the driving band is very small, it could also be a 75 mm Geb 36, or a K15 projectile what i personel think, your projectile has a thinner driving band, i think your projectile is a 75 LIG 18 projectile early type, but i can be wrong, regards Ben

You are not wrong at all Ben.:tinysmile_shy_t: I agree with you that they are some sort of 75mm projectile.
Im inclined to agree also on the 75 LIG 18 early type theory too.
