Hi Smirky,
Did you get that from `Dug-Up` at Detling by any chance? There was a box of these for sale at Beltring that looked very similar!
Fuzeman should be able to get some pics i reckon, all my stuff is buried somewhere in the loft for now im afraid.
Thanks for pictures, these do not match up with the (25)D though which looks like an altogether cheaper version than the (25)B. Can anyone be more specific?
The fuze you have there is the Electrical impact fuze Ie designation El az
The all important ringed number means that the 5 series was an Impact fuze
batch 6 lot A each batch was 10,00
Cpp is Rheinmettal Borsig plant
Can you throw any light on naming the parts? The attachment of the gaine looks to be a lot different to the more highy engineered fuzes where it screws in. Was the gaine press-fitted onto the plate with the igniter tube and the two screw-in thingys (picture) which has been melted out of the bottom?
Hi Smirky
I wrote a review on the German Bomb fuze , you can find it on bomb fuze thread or give me your email address and i will paste one on an attachment for you .
The variation of your (25) d is that yours is a later version , they tried to produce a cheap version using a rolled steel case rather like the (55) series fuze , in some (25) d the switch was blanked offf giving the fuze only one firing circuit as against 2
