Does anyone have the dimensions for the No 25 smoke generator? I have a lovely line drawing from the downloads section but no information on size, colour, or markings. What is the difference between MkI and MkII ? Does anyone have any info on how they were packed in a P60 ?
Thanks in anticipation,
Gary

a. 4.15-in diam x 4.45-in

Thats great Bonnex. Just what I needed.
Just need to find out how they were packed in a P60. Were they in individual tins ? Wrapped in greaseproof paper? Any pictures of a P60 used for no 25 smoke generators??
Cheers Gary

I appreciate this isn't exactly what you are looking for but thought it might be of use to you.

Maybe the stenciling and the colours are the same as on the p60

Thanks Mark, another variation for P59 use. Let me know if you come across a P60 marked up for 25 pr AP or Smoke generators.
Cheers

Gary,

The No 25 does not seem to feature very much in ammunition publications. The 25 Mk I is in Ammunition Bulletin No 33 (Not sure if this is where you found the drawing) which mentions that "8 generators are packed into Box P60 Mk I with corrugated cardboard packing pieces". Given that the No 8 generator was packed 8 in a P60 maybe the No 25 was similarly packed. Somewhere I have a drawing of the No8 / P60 layout. Do want me to dig it out or do you want to wait for the No25 / P60 to turn up.

Best

Hi Bonnex,
It would be great if you could dig out your drawing for the No 8/ p60 layout. I have found very little info on the No 25, the drawing was in bulletin no 40.I think I will wait a long time for more info on the No 25....
Cheers
Gary

This may be of use but the info is from 1943 so no MkII was mentioned.
The filled P60 weighed 32 lbs.
They managed to come out in reverse.
I particularly liked the P59, having looked into loads of these, which were really dedicated 25 pr boxes, with a clamp of four and weighed 118 lbs.
