Hi everyone,
I recently bought two (what i believe to be) French M1897 cartridge cases.
Could anyone confirm this and maybe shed some light on any or all of the stamps?

Any information will be gratefully recieved.

Thanks.

Hi John,I think what you have there are two 75mm shell cases, dated I think 1917 and 1918,other far more knowlegable members will explain the rest of the headstamps,
Have a look at the percussion caps, there could be some stamps there as well,I have a 1911 case and there is also a date stamp on the cap,,
Cheers,
Don,

Hi Don, Thanks for the confirmation. I dont think either of the cases have primer stamps. Ive done a little research, would you have an American made case?
Thanks again.

Hi Yoda, i found this in an old bocn post.
PCFD - Parc d'Artillerie de Place de Clermont-Ferrand

Thanks again!

Hi John,The case I have was identified as being French by some helpful members on an earlier post,
Cheers,
Don,
