I recently found this somewhat unusual fuze. The graduations are 0 - 80, but the slope of the channels is the reverse direction to normal fuzes that I have. The top is also domed and the base vented. Anyone any ideas?
It's a Hotchkiss "Fusee a double Effet Modele 1894". I think the Frankford arsenal 21 sec Fuze is a brother of this Hotchkiss fuze. Also the fuzes made by the American Ordnance Co. may be copies of the Hotchkiss fuzes. I am not really sure if the three holes near the fuze thread are original.
