French F2 grenade

Hello,
I purchased this inert French F2 grenade in Northern France Last year.
The seller told me its working like this: the lower part of wood is holding the fuse which is protruding a little bit and has a primer on top. Theres a strip of abrasive paper (absent here) glued on the inside of the upper part. When pulling the ring one releases the two-pointed nail which is holding the iron wire. The two pieces of wood can now be separated. The fuse is lit by striking the abrasive paper against the top of the fuse. The same way as ones lighting a match.
Back home I noticed that the fuse is not connected to the box. The loose fitted tube protruding the box is closed. I dont understand how this is working.

Im trying to verify the info of the sellerbut detailed info on the web is scarce and confusing.
According to my summarized book of Delhomme this should be the new type F2. There is no picture of it, only a similar explanation

The F2 on the site visual collector links(http://visualcollector.com/VisualCollectorLinks/GrenadesFrance/F2-L.jpg)
looks like mine. Unfortunately there is no photo of the inside of the blocs abrasive paper or not?

Last year an auction on the site Delcampe was offering a quite different F2.(http://coins.delcampe.nl/page/item/id,0171384442,language,D.html)The box isdifferent fixed to the plate and de pullring is attached to some kind of a plate. The F2 on Paul Spences site is also wired like this.

Someone has more info?
Regards,
John

heres a sectioned diagram. the fuze is very simple. a nail on a wire is held in the side of the wood block. to use, the nail is pulled out then pushed in the top hole till it hits the percussion cap, this should ignite the bickford fuze. so as soon as the user sees smoke coming out of the hole he throws the grenade immediately.

Thanks for the replay Paul. Isn’t this the first type F2? (1 single bloc of wood, same ignition like raquette ptard of the third army.)
Regards,
John
