Any suggestions for what would be the most cost effective method of sending a 10kg item ( Artillery Projectile) from the UK to New Zealand?

Thanks

Hi Andy,

post is out as max weight i believe is 2k and i reccon you will have problems getting it through your customs. As for cost, i reccon it will be horrendous too.
Do you need it that bad?

Andy

You are spot on with the 2kg limit Andy and the option of TNT and DHL is quite costly, Only have issues with live items through customs here, inert is all good as long as its obviously inert ie stripped down.
I think we have a solution with assistance from someone sending gear over by sea in the near future ;-)

Cheers
Andy

I asked from a shipping company some years ago just a general idea to send packages overseas by ship. They told me that their minimum fee is for 1 cbm/200 kilos despite of actual package size. Further they did not recommend to send any smaller packages anyway as they very likely get lost at some stage.

Later on I have succesfully sent a 1,2 cbm package from Finland to Australia by sea. If I remember correctly shipping cost was somewhat over 400 Euros but divided on over 100 kilos of items it was not too bad.

If the item was in Spain there will be no problem. Cost would be more or less 120 euro by Air. And cheaper by Economic, but I dont know what way is used for this method.
