I thought this one would be of interest to some of you. Its an example of folded ammunition.
The ones shown are inert commemorative ones made to show what real ones look like.
Has anyone else got examples they can show from their collections?
Dave.

I've got a couple of these fascinating little 5.56mm cartridges that I can show.

The first is a variation on your ball loading; you'll see that the 'chamber' part of my cartridge is round in shape whilst yours is oval.

The second cartridge has the same chamber shape as yours but it's a tracer loading - the various loads in this series were identified by the colouring of the plastic, yellow being tracer.

Thanks for posting the photos guys, very colourful. Has anyone got any of the larger calibre folded rounds? They made them up to 30mm.

Dave.

I know Dr. Schmitt has a number of examples in the larger calibers. His auctions show quite a variety.

Thanks, yes, I'm hoping one day he'll auction a few off, I may have missed out on them in the past though. Pete de Coux also had a 30mm years and years ago, long since gone.

can help with a black one.

It was a goody if you were visiting an ammo show.
