Eley cartridge date help

Sorry to post on a military sight but I have run out of search options on this one. Recently purchased a cartridge with the head stamp .eley. below that 50.95.300 At a guess I would say it is a early 1900s African hunting round. Any help would be appreciated.

Could it be the . 50-95 300-grain express, just found this. The .50-95 Winchester was introduced in 1879 as the largest member in the line-up of cartridges for the Model 1876 Winchester repeating rifle. All of the cartridges chambered in the 1876 Winchester were considered short-range rounds compared to the mid- and long-range cartridges that were available only in single-shot rifles at that time. The .50-95 was an express cartridge with a rather lightweight bullet shot at high velocity, making it a powerful hunting rifle for thin-skinned game within 200 yards.

The 50-95-300 is the Winchester cartridge, it was listed by Eley 1885-1919
Upon the closure of the Eley Bros., factory there was only one loading listed, which was a black powder load.
