Endel

Well-Known Member
Hi all,

i had some free time and i assembled some part of my collection of WW2 pioneer equipment for exposition. If any interest of closer view, it is welcome.

I mark this, that all this items collected several years and come from different antic fairs and ebay. And safety of course.

Great collection E, I think anything that is a group of similar/related items always looks impressive to me. What I particularily like about your grouping is the authentic condition of them. Sympathetically cleaned rather than over cleaned - beautiful. Love also the small details like the tripwire on the anti-tank mine fuzes. Some scarce pieces in those photos!!

thankyou for taking the time to post the photos
regards Kev

Thank you E for taking the time to put on such an excellent display. The German Pioneer stuff has become very interesting to me over the last year and I have been collecting a few bits.

Of real interest in your collection is the T.Mi.35 fuze holder with the 2 fuzes.

I also like the T.Mi.35 St as I would love to add one to my own collection.

The Spr.Patr.Z 34 display is very interesting. What do you use to simulate the bickford fuze?

E,
Tell me please - what for did use this box? I have two of them, but don`t know where they used.

They are storage containers for artillery- and mortar shell booster charges. Several different size of these boxes exist.

Hi,

I have got a new and quite rare box in my collection. Almost complete set, only R.Mi. 43 carrying rack is still missing.

Very nice collection Endel thanks for sharing!

Reminds me of the stuff we would find diving in the Starnberg See near Munchin with the German Pioneer Divers. A lot of stuff was dumped over board at the end of the war with thoughts of recovery if things turned. We were permitted to dive on a site known to be a dumping location. There was piles of TNT blocks and electric detonators. We decided to see if the dets still worked. That was about 1987 so 42 years under water. We put one over the side of the barge we were diving off of and hooked it to a 6V battery. Bang! it went off, and when I looked at our German Dive Supervisor he was just smiling and said yep German high tech. One of the other German divers said he went down one time in the full old Drager hard hat set (pushing 300 lbs) and when he hit the bottom of the shot line was standing on a pile of round metal plates. He guessed that they were Teller mines and asked to come up and go to a new location. Too funny.

In my permanent exhibition, the German bottle mine Flaschen Eismine 42 found a nice place. The mine comes from a war veteran who pick it up 75 years ago from military warehouses near Tannenberg line. The Finns also used to have thousands of mines in their warehouses, but their bottles bear the inscription SA. Photos of the use of mines on the battlefield are relatively uncommon. If anyone has a good picture, please quote.

Wasn't the question what this box was for?
