On Saturday I sold a map on ebay for the incredible sum of 0.99p. The buyer paid up and from the PayPal receipt page I hit reply and thanked him, saying it would be posted on Monday. Yesterday morning I got a ranting e-mail in capital letters saying he didn't like getting emails as it was a gross invasion of his privacy. He said he would leave Negative feedback, which he did. Making me sound more like a hacker or a spy! I cancelled the sale and refunded the money (I can't give him the satisfaction of getting a cheap map). I can't believe that such morons exist. How was I to know he didn't like getting emails? I only used PayPal's mail facility. I must be the only Ebay seller who has received negative feedback for saying 'Thank You'! Anyone else suffered like this?

had that once, mostly I get nasty replies saying the items was not as described and they want a part of the money returned. I don
t do that so I tell them to return the item and upon receipt I will refund them rarely fo they send the item back. Then there are the ones who buy the item but don't pay for 2 or three weeks, so now if I don't get paid in 4 days I relist it. But for the most part it is the emails I get from Ebay telling me I violated one of their polices, which does not seem to appear to those of you who sell similar items on it. Keep in mind it is the buyer who has the power not the seller.

Quite right there. Seemingly there is no duty of care to the people who actually earn them the money, which is the sellers not the buyers. Sellers fees on listing, final value and a slice of paypal too. I think I'll list a photo of a 22,000lb grand slam, buyer collects and see what they say.
