On the 5th of July 1946 the german engineer and developer of the Rheinmetall electric fuzes was transfered by the british military to a place on the outskirts of London where 100 german prisoners of war were helping a small group of british military people to translate german military documents. Attached to this at the time was a research outfit that did research on the dust fuze and had in their posession one of the high speed airturbines from Rheinmetall/Soemmerda. H. Ruehlemann was asked to write a report on the german R & D effort on the dust fuze. This report he wrote in German and it was translated at once into english. Ruehlemann was allowed to return to Germany on the 17th of Oktober 1946.
Has anyone of you ever seen this report on the dust fuze and does anyone of you know where this can be accessed today ? I have never heard of a production modell fuze anywhere in the world using the principal of electrostatic charging , so nothing seems to have come of this british research. Still it would be interesting to read about their experiences. I think it is certain to assume that many, many pages of reports were written about these studies at the time. After 73 years these reports I expect are not confidential any more. Does anybody of you know where these could be accessed ?
