Hi All,I have just bought (to save them going for scrap) two 105x617 cases, headstamp of one reads,105x617 DM 60 LOS DN-7-44,the primer stamp reads DM 1101A1-LOS-DAG 11 2,the primer tubes are steel and rusted, the brass cases are in good condition,I used the search section and found they were for the Leopard Tank,is there any way of dating these cases and is there a possibility of them being used in the Chieftain tank which would be a way to explain how two large heavy cases were here in the uk as I believe DM was German manufacture code, any information would be welcome,
Many thanks,
Don,

Unless somebody has access to factory or military procurement documents the date will remain unknown I think. German cases in the UK are not too strange as German units did lots of tank gunning in the UK back in the old days.

Hi EOD,Thanks for the reply,I am not into collecting these size shells but I did not want to see them scrapped,it is only when I looked at the headstamps that I noticed there was no clear date stamp which intrigued me,I searched the net and found this round fitted a lot of different tanks all using the same main gun,I think I will put them in the sale section,Thanks again,
Cheers,
Don,
