This bouncing mine was one of unfinished experimental types made in Shipyard Split (Brodosplit). It has been constructed two months before the end of war in Croatia, so it has never been finished and put in serial production. The inventor of this mine was chief of PGB team in Brodosplit but as I said because the war stopped, he has never finished this project. The idea was to use steel PGB 02 grenade body which was used in serial production of bouncing mines PGB X01 and PGB X02 and combine it with plastic body with steel balls of Cetinka hand grenade to make bouncing landmine with dual effect. For this project Cetinka grenade body had threads from both sides. From one side the brass fuze holder was threaded on Cetinka body and from other side, the dual-purpose fuze has been threaded to connect Cetinka grenade body and steel PGB-02 grenade body. The connection had a piece of electric plastic tube from outside (you may see it on photo, orange tube) and black powder propelling charge was from inside. Also the other black powder propelling charge was at the bottom of PGB-02 steel grenade body. Cetinka should have metal tube in the center for igniting the first black powder charge and at the same time to ignite the pyrotechnical delay in central tube in steel PGB-02 body. The first black powder propelling charge should break the weak part of dual purpose fuze between Cetinka and PGB-02 and launch Cetinka 4 meters from the ground igniting the delay with small detonator accumbent to central tube in Cetinka. The delay should detonate the grenade 4 meters from the ground. After 2 seconds the delay in PGB-02 central tube should ignite the propelling charge at the bottom of steel PGB-02 body and launch it from the ground at the same time igniting the delay in pyrotechnic delay fuze on the bottom of PGB-02 body. After launching from the ground the detonation of PGB-02 steel body should kill all soldiers wounded and disabled by detonation of Cetinka a few seconds earlier.
The idea was very inovative, but you may notice that the original technical cutaway drawing has not been finished. The reason is the end of the war and experimenting at the same time with three other types of bouncing mines. PGB team in Brodosplit was making experiments with few variants of fuzes and after the one of them would be succesful, the full cutaway technical drawing would be made and the mine would be put in production. This mine stayed experimental unfinished project.
The idea of inventor of this mine was to use pull fuze made in Brodosplit with it, but during experiments on this project they have been using yugoslavian special fuzes, so you may see UMNOP-1V yugoslavian practice special fuze on this mine from my collection but as I said, the fuze is irrelevant, because in some tests they also used electric fuze from distance to activate experimental GB-02 mines.
