Canadian Ordnance Factory

The one of the women sewing what I think are 5.5" bag charges surprises me, as there's a lot of propellant there, on that table alone.

What a wonderful pictures from the "Good" old times.
Thanks for posting MINENAZ16.

These pictures are great! Thanks so much for sharing them. Could you post them in the, IAA also. I think they have an old thread on women working in ammunition factories. Regardless, Awesome pictures to see.

Agreed.. they are 5.5" charges, however it may be a staged photo in a training room as the bundle of "cordite" looks more like the varnished cord they used for drill cartridges.

I can't see any logic in having bare propellant and made up charges on the same table in a real ammo lab..

I suspect none of the ammunition was live.. The "chest full of PIAT bombs" have no filling rings, and although some of the others are marked up, I would imagine they are instructional inert.

I am still cringing seeing those QF cases being stood on their ends.. sacrilege!

I was surprized to see the MK1 75mm present. I have one and I would like to know
who made it, if any one knows the marking.

For the case I see CL/C : I have from a former post, "Canadian Lamp Co/Canada"
On the shell, I can't see the second letter is it PS/C or PG/C ("Pickering Canada Filling Factory, Ontario") ?
