Hi,

while walking my dogs in the woods behind my house the other day I came across this....

so i'm hoping someone on here can tell me about it :tinysmile_grin_t:

It seems to have a bluey green paint colour which isn't apparent in the picture.

It looks like the igniter for a US Mk2 grenade . A slightly better picture may help !

That's better ! As EODTEK states , more likely one of the M200 types . Was there a US training facility nearby ?

Could also be an M6 type for the M16 WP grenade. Cheers, Y'all, Bruce.

the shape of the lever suggest a cylindrical body, ie smoke, incendiary etc rather than a frag grenade. The non-apperance of a thread (perhaps under the light coloured ring below the body), the appearance of a pin and pull ring may suggest disposal of the grenade as a 'blind' using a small counter charge

Or if a 'can' type grenade the body could have simply rotted away?
