This one arrived today. Original sign, enamel on steel.
Does anyone have any variations on this type or photographs that show the signs in place around bomb sites?
Dave.

Here is a variation to the enamel sign in my collection.

Also shown, cardboard version same wording as Dave's.

Like Dave I would also love to know if anyone has any pictures of these signs in use? or any references to them being used

regards Kev

Very nice Kev, I'll have to be careful not to get diverted down the route of collecting signs too!!
The following link is interesting.

After the raids of early 1943 in Essex in which new fuzes were introduced into the butterfly bombs, it became apparent that the public would need to be informed of the new threat.

Here is an example of a leaflet sent to Town Halls and the like during early 1943. (example dated April 1943)

After the Grimsby raid a step further was taken and a public information film was produced to be shown in all cinemas.

Very informative.. I have seen one of these signs somewhere on a black and white photo on the net, if i remember where I will post a link here.

Thanks Mad now that would be a nice sign to have!
I like the photo of the 2 guys loading them from a box, if only..........
Dave.

I just wanted to try and revitalise this thread.
Does anyone have any photos of the signs in use i.e. old wartime black and white photos of bomb sites/cordoned off areas with the warning signs showing?
The enamel signs do seem to crop up from time to time and it would be good to see if there were any variations in use that we're not aware of from examples in collections.
Thanks.
Dave.

Hi Dave,

This is the one I personally saw.

It did exist, with the different wording.
