British WW1 Ammunition Codes

Doug

Hi

Apparently in WW1, the British used a letter code to represent an artillery ammunition type for staff planning and ammunition depot reporting. For example, A is 18-pounder shrapnel, AX is 18-pounder HE, etc.

Does anyone have a complete list, or know where a list can be found?

Thanks

Doug
