Managed to pick this up recently, I think it is a training round for the post WW2 20 Pdr tank gun, used in vehicles such as the Charioteer and Centurion. I have not come across one of these before and was initially concerned the attachment of the dummy projectile was incorrect. Having examined it closely I think it is all original, but happy to have your view. The base is clearly constructed as a training round and it is fully weighted!
My concern was the metal fixing protruding from the case, but having looked at an APCBC (pictures attached) and HE projectile for the 20 Pdr their driving bands are also wider than the case mouth.
