If any members have any 1 or 2 pdr related items to swap or sell then I'm always on the look out for things. I am still looking for No.121 and 243 fuses, Little John round etc. I've got some large calibre stuff to swap (17 pdrs 3.7 AA etc) If you've got anything please drop me a line.

I must say im amazed at the amount of scarce 2pdr stuff members have. Thanks for showing them Q,Tony

Hi Waff.

The 3.7" is British (very nice, unfired no pitting:p)
well worth a swap for somebody?

Excellent items QM, it's really nice to see items that have not been messed with over the years, unfortunately with the nature of ordnance, there always seems to be bits missing, holes drilled, "trench art" or turned into a lamp !
As a matter of interest, I could have filled a large wheelbarrow with the 2pdr flat top practice shot about 25 years ago, as I came across a few, but did not know what they were at the time and only collecting grenades, left them behind. Oh the benefit of hindsight ! Tony.

I agree with the boys that you have a nice collection squire!
Has it taken several years or have you just been into it for a short while?

Quatermass ref the 2pdr with Fuze, Percussion, Base, Tracer, No. 281, Mark I i have only seen drawings of this fuze before thanks for sharing it,this thing could easily be mistaken for a practice round fitted with tracer

Comparison between;
Fuze, Percussion, Base, Tacer, No.281, Mark I
Tracer, Shell, No.6 Mark I
Fuze, Percussion, Base, Hotchkiss.

I've been collecting for coming up to 10 years Waff, first fair i did was the much missed Tilbury fort.
I've noiticed in even that small time how much harder it is to pick stuff up at the fairs, which is why I'm surprised that theres so little interest in my 17 pdrs and 3.7" stuff.

The reason that theres no interest in your rounds is not through lack of interest, its because they are quite valuable and finding an equall swap is not easy.Dont give in Q,i regularly do swaps with members and we all get new stuff on a regular basis.By the way i have never been to a militaria fair in my life!

Hello quatermass,,i just try to keep to collecting small stuff ,fuzes mostly,i just dont have the room to collect large calibre rounds

Hello Tigbrand

Never been to a militaria fair, shame on you!:)

Now that ebays outlawed Ordnance and there does not seem to be an obvious internet replacement (although SpecialistAuction appears to be the place, its not as easy to navagate as ebay and the list till it sells option means that it gets clogged up with the same old items in perpertuity) then the fairs may well be the only way that we get new stuff for are collections.
Not to helpfull if you live miles from a fair!

Perhaps other members would like to upload pictures of there 2 pdr under this post and make it into a usefull resource on the rounds.

I think I'd sell the rounds if anyone made a good offer.

Quatermass.

Hi Spotter,

The size is why they have to go, I'm in a small flat and theres hardly room for me let alone a collection of 17 pdrs, heavy AA rounds, 25 pdr muzzle brake, 18 pdrs etc. I'm going to concentrate on 37-57mm rounds.

Quatermass.
